For over three decades, the talented artists of G.DeBrekht Artistic Studios have
celebrations. Each piece has intrigued and delighted us with intricate hand painting,
nostalgic artwork and exquisite design.
G. DeBrekht Artist Studios has remained committed to Old World Craftmanship,
resisting the trend to automate the production process. Each piece has spent
countless hours in the hands of some of the most talented artists. G. DeBrekht is
home to the best and the brightest Russian, American and International artisits, hand-
carvers and free hand painters, no two pieces will ever be identical.
Using a very special wood-based resin material, each piece is hand-poured and will
resemble the hand-carved original so closely that even the woodcarver cannot tell the
pieces apart. A small corps of artists —each trained in the Russian techniques of
decoration and story painting—meticulously hand paints each piece to the exact
likeness of the original. Amazingly, each artist paints free-hand without guidelines.
The painting is usually added in three to nine layers, one on the top another. Using
rich color pigments and palettes that duplicate the ones used in Russian art villages,
these gifted artists create the magnificent scenes and decorations. Even with small
limits of 600 to 1,500, it still takes two to three years to complete each edition of these
works of art. Because of their low limitation, these pieces retire from production
quickly.
Andre Gabricht, founder and creative director, recommends studying each piece with
